Chủ đề Skills ở level B2 cần học những gì?

Ở level B1, chủ đề Skills thường tập trung vào các cách diễn đạt tương đối trực tiếp như good at, communication skills, work in a team hoặc solve problems. Khi lên B2, người học cần sử dụng ngôn ngữ chính xác và linh hoạt hơn để đánh giá năng lực, trình bày điểm mạnh, nhận diện hạn chế và giải thích cách một kỹ năng được phát triển.

Người học B2 cần hiểu sự khác biệt giữa kỹ năng có thể rèn luyện, khả năng tự nhiên, chuyên môn tích lũy và mức độ thành thạo. Những từ như skill, ability, aptitude, competence, proficiency và expertise không thể thay thế hoàn toàn cho nhau trong mọi ngữ cảnh.

Cách học từ vựng Skills level B2 hiệu quả

Không nên học theo danh sách rời rạc như skill nghĩa là kỹ năng, ability nghĩa là khả năng và competence nghĩa là năng lực. Mỗi từ cần được học cùng loại từ, collocation, giới từ và một câu ví dụ hoàn chỉnh.

Khi học skill, cần ghi nhớ các cụm develop a skill, acquire new skills, demonstrate practical skills và transfer skills to a new context. Khi học proficient, cần học cấu trúc be proficient in something. Khi học capable, cần nhớ be capable of doing something.

Từ vựng B2 cũng cần được học theo nhóm nghĩa. Nhóm thứ nhất mô tả loại kỹ năng, nhóm thứ hai mô tả mức độ thành thạo, nhóm thứ ba nói về quá trình phát triển và nhóm cuối cùng dùng để đánh giá năng lực.

Paraphrase cũng là một phần quan trọng. Thay vì luôn dùng good at, người học có thể chuyển sang be skilled in, be proficient in, demonstrate competence in hoặc have considerable expertise in, tùy theo mức độ trang trọng.

Mỗi từ mới nên được sử dụng trong ít nhất ba ngữ cảnh: một câu nói về bản thân, một tình huống học tập và một tình huống công việc. Cách học này giúp người học chuyển từ nhận biết nghĩa sang chủ động sử dụng từ.

Một lỗi phổ biến là chọn từ đúng nghĩa nhưng sai từ loại. Sau modal verbs như can hoặc should, cần dùng động từ nguyên thể: can communicate, should improve. Sau tính từ sở hữu như my hoặc their, thường cần danh từ: my ability, their competence.

Competent và capable đều là tính từ nhưng đi với cấu trúc khác nhau. Competent thường kết hợp với in hoặc at, trong khi capable thường đi với of + V-ing.

Qualified có thể đi với for khi nói đủ điều kiện cho một vị trí và đi với to + verb khi nói có bằng cấp hoặc quyền thực hiện một công việc.

1. Chủ đề Skills ở level B2 cần học bao nhiêu từ?
